Extended copy: Welcome to The Bear team, Elizabeth Spiva! Our new Executive Producer, Elizabeth, is a long time “Austinite” originally from Dallas, TX. After getting her degree in Communication from Southwestern University in Georgetown, she actually fell into the industry on accident. Elizabeth originally wanted to be a writer, and interned at a TV station. Never wanting to be in front of the camera, Elizabeth found herself interested in what the producers were doing when she was an intern. Fun fact — She actually got hired as an associate producer before even getting out of college! She then freelanced for the next 14 years as an agency producer, line producer, and may other facets. Elizabeth has shot in locations all over such as Europe and Mexico, for brands such as Anheuser-Busch, Lowes, Target, and Domino’s. She’s been in the industry for over 25 years now, spanning advertising, film, and production,.
In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys volunteering in politics as a poll monitor, is an avid “plant mom”, and enjoys reading and cooking. She notes Uruguay as the best place she’s ever traveled and is dying to visit Iceland, Portugal, and Spain. Back in the day, Elizabeth and The Bear partner/director Ben Steinbauer were friends when he was an assistant editor at 501 Post. Elizabeth looks forward to growing the next generation of directors and filmmakers and give people the opportunity to gain real experience.
